Earlier today Andrei Arlovski announced that he may fight in Chicago against Tai Tuivasa (via Instagram).
Andrei’s words: “Just woke up and find out that I might fight in Chicago… wow, I have to phone my manager.”
Tai Tuivasa, 24 (7-0) in his MMA career and 2-0 in the UFC, is coming off of an outstanding win over Cyril Asker at UFC 221. “Bam Bam” once again did not disappoint a single person by winning the bout with a vicious TKO. The fight only lasted 2:18.
However, if this fight between the star prospect and former UFC heavyweight champion happens, it will for sure be Tuivasa’s toughest fight to date. With Tai holding one punch knockout power, it’s going to be exciting to see how “The Pitbull” handles this because all of Tai Tuivasa’s wins come by KO/TKO stoppage in the first round. With Arlovski currently looking fantastic on his two fight winning streak against Stefan Struve and Junior Albini, it seems certain that Arlovski has once again found his feet in the UFC Octagon.
“The Pitbull” will have a three inch height and two inch reach advantage going into this fight against Tuivasa. This will benefit Arlovski very well if the fight happens to go down in Chicago, Illinois on June 9th.
This card will also have another exciting heavyweight match-up when the #6 ranked UFC heavyweight Curtis Blaydes faces the #2 ranked UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem. It’s main event will feature the current UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker, looking to defend his belt against the #1 UFC middleweight contender Yoel Romero.
