This afternoon the UFC announced they will be holding an event in Liverpool, England for the very first time. The event will take place on Sunday May 27th at The 11,000 capacity Echo Arena.
There had been rumours of the UFC holding an event in Dublin, Ireland on that date but now we have confirmation that they will be holding their second event on British shores in the space of 3 months.
The event will be something of a homecoming for rising Liverpudlian star Darren Till. The 25-year-old is expected by many to put his perfect 16-0 professional record on the line in the main event.
Till hasn’t fought since dispatching Donald Cerrone in October 2017 but has remained vocal on social media in calling out the majority of the welterweight division.
In what promises to be the biggest weekend in UK MMA history, both the UFC and Bellator will hold major events in England over the course of 3 days. In addition to UFC Liverpool on May 27th, the O2 Arena in London will host Bellator 200 on Friday 25th May.
