Frans Mlambo continued his impressive form for Brave Combat Federation with an impressive yet somewhat controversial TKO win over Felipe Efraim. Now, he has his eyes on a rematch with reigning Brave CF bantamweight champion Stephen Loman.
The South African prodigy who is training at Straight Blast Gym Ireland, shocked the audience at Jordan during Brave 10: The Kingdom Rises when he dropped Felipe Efrain from Chute Boxe, Brazil during the first round of the bout. Though the fight ended in a controversial early stoppage, Mlambo dominated the fight from bell to bell, raining punches down on Efrain.
“I had clearly dropped Efrain for the first time, while my corner advised me to let him rise so that I can finish clean and safe by a uppercut while his guard was still down. So despite the controversy, the result will not be altered. That day as promised, the world witnessed a different Frans Mlambo. I aim to go for the Bantamweight title of the promotion in a rematch against Stephen Loman. I am respectful towards him and towards his team, it will be a great fight. Once I win the championship I am ready to take up the challenge requested by Felipe Efrain.” said Mlambo.
Responding to Mlambo, Loman posted congratulating Mlambo and accepting the chance to face him at Brave Combat Federation. The fighters last met in Brave’s inaugural event, Brave 1 : Bahrain in September 2016. On that occasion, Loman emerged with the unanimous decision victory and went on to claim the bantamweight crown at Brave 9 : The Kingdom of Champions with a TKO win over defending champion Gurdarshan Mangat.
With the bantamweight division of Brave Combat Federation diversifying quickly, a multitude of fighters are pushing to claim the bantamweight throne in one of the most dynamic divisions in the promotion.
