Dana White and Conor McGregor are finally getting together to discuss the former two weight UFC champion’s future with the promotion.
Speaking to TMZ Sports yesterday, White confirmed that he will be meeting with the outspoken Irishman early next week.
”He and I are meeting on the 18th of this month,” Dana told TMZ. “I don’t know whats gonna happen. I don’t know what Conor has planned. I don’t know what Conor and his team have worked on.”
This will be the third time the pair have attempted to meet in recent months. The first meeting, scheduled to take place during the wekeend of UFC 223 was derailed due to McgGregor’s arrest and subsequent assault and criminal mischief charges. The pair were then rumoured to be meeting during last month’s UFC Fight Night card in Liverpool but that meeting didn’t materialise.
McGregor and SBG teammate Cian Cowley flew to New York on Tuesday ahead of their scheduled court appearance later today following the now infamous ‘dolly throwing incident’ at UFC 223.
It has been more than eighteen months since McGregor last stepped into the octagon, defeating then lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez in destructive fashion at UFC 205. Since then, the 29-year-old hasn’t strayed far from the spotlight, with a string of headlines stemming from his antics outside the cage along with making his highly publicised boxing debut against Floyd Mayweather last August.
