BT have lost the rights to broadcast UFC events after walking away from a bidding war. “We won’t bid any more than the rights are worth to us”, a spokesperson from BT told the BBC.
BT Sports currently spends around £1 billion a year on sports rights, such as the Premier League and Champions League football, a figure which many investors have criticised.
BT Sports will continue to show the UFC until the 3rd of December until a new service provider is sought.
The future home for UFC in the UK is still unconfirmed, however, it is believed that Eleven Sports will take over the rights.
Eleven Sports have hired UFC marketer, Scott Fenton so all fingers are pointing to them to be the new hosts.
