A flyweight bout between Ashkan Mokhtarian and newcomer Kai Kara-France is the second addition to UFC Fight Night 142, scheduled for Adelaide Entertainment Center in Adelaide, Australia on December 1st.
The promotion announced the confirmation today via Twitter.
New Zealander, Kara-France was a contestant on “The Ultimate Fighter 24” in 2016 as a member of Team Cejudo and was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Alexandre Pantoja. The 25-year-old will enter his UFC debut on a five-fight winning streak gained outside of the UFC, where he has won 10 of his last 11 total bouts.
Iranian born Mokhtarian has had a bad run to start his UFC career and will be looking to avoid a third consecutive loss. Last year, the 32-year-old dropped a unanimous decision to John Moraga in his UFC debut, then was knocked out via head kick by Ryan Benoit in November. This will be his first fight of 2018 under the UFC banner.
This is the second addition to the UFC Adelaide card, the first being Ben Nguyen vs. Wilson Reis which was announced this last week.
