Brave Combat Federation had already assembled a stacked card for their eleventh promotional event. Today, they have taken things one step further with the announcement that Brave 11 will feature an intriguing strawweight contest between Luana Pinheiro and Elaine Leal.
25-year-old Pinheiro (4-1-0) is an experienced Judoka who once held ambitions of representing Brazil in the Olympic games. After missing out on a spot on the Olympic team, Pinheiro switched her focus to Mixed Martial Arts and hasn’t looked back. Since making her professional debut in October 2016, the Brazilian strawweight has shown steady improvement with the only loss on her record coming in a closely fought split decision loss to Cris Macfer in March 2017. Since then, Pinheiro has returned to the win column twice with first round submission wins over both Charlene Bastia de Souza and Jessica Kelly.
Pinheiro is certainly excited to be making her promotional debut for Brave Combat Ferderation in her home nation of Brazil next month.
“Today is certainly a defining day in my career. I signed with Brave Combat Federation, one of the largest MMA organisations in the world. I would like to thank the athlete relations team for the opportunity and I am super excited to fight for Brave. Thanks to my coaches Cristiano Lazzarini, Joel Velha and Bruno Victor and the team at BH Rhinos for the support in my career.” said Pinheiro.
Leal (5-5-0) has alternated wins and losses for much of her career and has not fought since a TKO loss to Aline Henry in May 2017. With twice the professional experience of her opponent, the 28-year-old Brazilian will without doubt be Pinheiro’s biggest test to date.
Brave 11 will be held at Minas Tênis Clube Arena at Belo Horizonte, Brazil on 13th April, 2018.
