After officially announcing that they would be returning to England for ACB 87, yesterday the Russian promotion confirmed details of the main event for their debut Nottingham show. The card will be headlined by a featherweight bout pitting Mancunian Kane “The Danger” Mousah (10-1-0) against Scotland’s Robert “The Hammer” Whiteford (14-4-0).
Mousah is carrying a three fight win streak which dates back to December 2016. Since making the move to ACB, 30-year-old Mousah is 2-0 with a unanimous decision victory over Lewis Monarch at ACB 54, followed by a narrow, split decision win over Alex Enlund at ACB 70. Mousah hasn’t been shy in expressing his desire to take on the best that the division has to offer and he is certainly being granted that wish in being matched up against Robert Whiteford. The only blot on “The Danger’s” otherwise perfect professional record came in July 2016 at BAMMA 25, against rising UFC star Marc Diakese.
34-year-old Whiteford is a five fight UFC veteran and is coming off a stunning submission victory over Nan Pham just 21 seconds into the first round of their bout at ACB 54. “The Hammer” holds a two fight win streak of his own since moving to ACB in October 2016. Prior to this, Whiteford fought in the UFC, amassing a record of 2-3 during his time with the promotion.
